Welcome to our blog. First of all, If you are a innocent by-stander who is just passing by on the blogosphere, I like to make sure you understand this: We are not a cult! We are just a group of pretty serious Christians (as there are many out there) that are more than a bit unsatisfied with the current state of the church in North America, specially in the United States, and that had decided (with the blessing of our Church leadership) embark in the adventure of exploring the scriptures, history, God’s heart (if possible), and our own hearts, with the purpose of rediscovering the calling of God to the church in the 21st century to live in community.

Basically when we read the scriptures (AKA The Bible) we clearly see that Jesus Christ pretty much meant what he was saying. However, what we see in our lives and in the church at large (by the church we are referring to the Christian Church in its universal meaning, without denominational distinction) is a fear and an apathy at living the way our master modeled for us while he lived his ministry among us in this earth.

Take a simple look at Matthew 5, or read Luke 12, or Matthews 6-7, or Acts 1-5 and you will find that Jesus and the apostles describe a completely different life style than what we Christians live today. For starters, Matthew chapter five describes the infamous beatitudes, where Jesus talks about the citizens of the kingdom of God where he descives very specific character treats. These character treats such as; meekness, thirst for justice, humbleness, are today seen as weaknesses by today’s society and by most mainstream Christians.

We realize that there are radical cultural differences between the Christians of the first century Jerusalem and us in urban North America 21st century. Nevertheless, the principles that both the gosples and Acts provide for us on those pages are timeless, and as such, are applicable to any culture. Now, the application of those principles accross different cultures varies and thus, it is the purpose of this blog to create an space to explore this, to enter in dialog with the scripture, among ourselves in community, with our God, and doing so with diligence, love, patience, and the understanding of our cultural backdrop.
